Now Hiring: Director of Engineering

TWiT.tv is looking for a talented, enthusiastic individual to work full time in our Petaluma, California studio as a Director of Engineering.  As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the technology which enables TWiT to create and deliver content to viewers. This position reports to the executive management team.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Lead, direct, and manage Engineering team

• Set all Engineering goals in conjunction with the larger company strategy and drive the team to meet those goals

• Manage both internal and external technology roadmaps to drive advancement of projects that enhance the TWiT experience

• Develop and maintain schedule for project timelines and tasks

• Oversee the building of public-facing customer web sites

• Oversee the development of internal applications (dashboards, reporting, data extraction, etc.)

• Oversee the code review process to ensure high quality and secure web applications

• Manage relationships with vendors, including day-to-day operations and future specifications

• Maintain a budget for the technical needs of the engineering group, including personnel and technology needs (servers, development tools, etc.)

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years Engineering Management experience

• Professional experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

• Experience managing and building a team of engineers and developers

• Ability to define project scopes and deliver on time and within budgets

• Ability to collaborate with an influence the executive team on high-level technological decision making

• Experience working with and managing a remote team

• Web-related technologies, especially Drupal, PHP, or Javascript

• Experience working with and managing external vendors

• Familiarity with podcast production and/or live streaming video
